Description
The System Administrator roles are in support of a number of DEF100 Capability Elements.
A highly experienced System Administrator is required to lead and manage system administrative support activities in a key capability domain; is able to contribute in a business environment which is in a complex, emerging domain and operates at a rapid pace.
The program of work has multiple projects which range in size. The successful candidate may be required to work across several of these.
Role Information
Major Responsibilities:
Lead and manage installation, configuration and maintenance of Linux based systems.
Lead and manage installation, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft based systems.
Engage Puppet for development of, and continuous configuration management of system builds.
Manages and provides advice for ongoing hardware and operating system support
Escalate issues and seek advice from the Project / Program Manager in a timely manner.
Navigate a complex business environment with only limited direction through engaging a wide variety of stakeholders.
Contributes in the continuous improvement process by developing and enhancing procedures.
Communicate with diverse stakeholder groups in technical and business process terms.
Write documentation in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Other Features of the Role (e.g. location, travelling, shift hours,)
Ability to work in a high security environment with sensitivity reticence and discretion.
The role is based in Canberra with minimal travel.
