Senior Project Manager

Description

Remote is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in the Defence Intelligence Group. The Project Manager will deliver and sustain a new software tool, known as Rapid Analysis Missile Modelling & Simulation (RAMMS), to address a critical priority intelligence capability.

Role Information

The Project Manager will work under the primary direction of the Commonwealth Project Representative and shall provide project management support services to the Commonwealth through the following tasks:

• Project and Contract management;

• Planning, scheduling, and estimating of work/tasks to deliver the RAMMS project;

• Preparation of project documentation and project delivery reviews with industry and Defence subject matter experts;

• Review and assessment of contractor project management deliverables;

• Providing advice on the application of project management methodologies using Agile methodology;

• Preparing risk management plans and documentation, conducting risk management workshops with stakeholders, identifying and tracking major risks and issues, and developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies; and

• Providing specialist project management assistance to Defence executives, managers, staff, and project teams.

Essential criteria:

• Project management knowledge, skills and experience in ICT projects, preferably software projects;

• Experience with the selection and application of Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) templates – Complex Materiel and/or Strategic Material;

• Experience working with, and integrating software into, ICT systems and networks;

• Experience using an Agile methodology in project management; and

• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project).

Desirable criteria:

• Systems engineering knowledge and experience in ICT projects, preferably software projects.
