Description

Remote is looking for a talented individual to join the team at the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) as Senior Project Manager. This role is crucial for managing the delivery of inflight initiatives across various areas of the agency, including Intelligence Operations, Intelligence and Information Systems, National Police Checking Service, and Corporate and Enabling Services.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in program management or project management, with a proven track record of managing and delivering multiple projects. They should be adept at mapping dependencies across projects, scheduling initiatives, and working across various delivery methodologies.

Role Information

Key duties and responsibilities

The successful candidates are expected to have:

  • Program Management (or 5+ Project Management) experience in the management and delivery of programs or multiple projects. 

  • Significant experience in mapping dependencies across projects and programs, as well as scheduling initiatives within a program of work.

  • Ability to use, adapt, and work across various delivery methodologies. 

  • Significant experience working with and influencing internal and external stakeholders and partners to plan and successfully deliver programs and projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints. 

  • Experience in building and promoting program vision and developing a collaborative team culture and approach to delivery of program objectives and benefits. 

  • Experience in developing and presenting Board papers and briefing materials for SES audiences. 

  • Demonstrated experience with program governance, including planning, financials, reporting, risks and issues, benefits, dependency management, etc. 

  • Experience with Federal Government procurement processes to successfully engage and manage 3^rd^ party vendors. 

  • High level interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present and communicate information and expectations to stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Personal resilience and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and conflicting priorities to successfully deliver under pressure within a challenging environment.

  • Experience working on projects within the Law Enforcement or Intelligence space is beneficial. 

Essential criteria

  1. Program (or 5+ years Project) Management experience in delivery of a large and/or complex Program(s) or Projects

  2. Demonstrated experience working with and influencing internal and external stakeholders and partners to plan and successfully deliver programs and projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints

  3. Demonstrated experience with program governance, including planning, financials, reporting, risks and issues, dependency management, etc

  4. Demonstrated experience in mapping dependencies across projects and programs, as well as scheduling initiatives within a program of work

  5. Ability to use, adapt, and work across various delivery methodologies to successfully deliver program outcomes (such as waterfall, Agile, hybrid).

  6. Demonstrated ability to build and lead several multi-disciplinary teams to effectively deliver results and positively respond to change

  7. Ability to build and promote program vision and to develop a collaborative team culture

  8. Demonstrated ability to engage and manage third-party vendors and contracts to ensure successful delivery of requirements

  9. Well-developed communication skills

  10. Experience in developing and presenting Board papers and briefing materials SES audiences

  11. Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and liaise effectively with various stakeholders

  12. Demonstrated personal resilience and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and conflicting priorities to successfully deliver under pressure within a challenging environment.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience working in Federal Government agencies

  2. Project management qualifications and certification are highly desirable

  3. Knowledge of Essential Eight, ISM, and Security Maturity requirements will be highly regarded

  4. Experience working in Law Enforcement or Intelligence agencies.
