Description
Information Security Branch (ISB) requires appropriately skilled contractors who are suitably security cleared to enable the Branch to carry out its functions in support of ASD activities.
Experienced JIRA Systems Administrator required to develop and enhance ASD ICT security systems. The contractor will be responsible for engineering activities and tasks relating to requirements development, system definition, design and development, integration, verification, validation and sustainment.

ASD requires an EL1 equivalent ICT Security JIRA System Administrator to Execute systems engineering tasks in the design, development, deployment and sustainment of security capabilities; and develop complex analytics across large and varied datasets to achieve insights and answer security-based business requirements.

The ICT Security JIRA Systems Administrator will perform the following duties and responsibilities:

Essential criteria:
DESN 5 Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components. Evaluates and undertakes impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks. Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality, security and systems management requirements.
INAN 5 Specifies and applies appropriate analytical techniques to create information which supports business decision-making. Formats and communicates results, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualisation methods appropriate to the target audience.
SCTY 5 Provides advice and guidance on security strategies to manage identified risks and ensure adoption and adherence to standards. Obtains and acts on vulnerability information and conducts security risk assessments, business impact analysis and accreditation on complex information systems. Investigates major breaches of security, and recommends appropriate control improvements. Contributes to development of information security policy, standards and guidelines.
TEST 5 Coordinates and manages planning of the system and/or acceptance tests, including software security testing, within a development or integration project or programme. Takes responsibility for integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinates the execution of these activities. Provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution. Defines and communicates the test strategy for the project. Manages all test processes, including test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability. Manages client relationships with respect to testing matters. Identifies process improvements, and contributes to corporate testing standards and definition of best practice.
SEAC 5 Engages with technical design and project managers or Project Management Office, to ensure correct products are produced, in a timely fashion. Evaluates the quality of project outputs against agreed service acceptance criteria.
